Our philosophy
At Purposeful Play School, we prioritize the holistic development of each child, ensuring their physical, emotional, social, and cognitive growth. Our inquiry- and play-based curriculum fosters curiosity and creativity, while the children are guided in setting and achieving personal goals. By prioritizing social connections and developmentally appropriate play-based learning experiences, we create a nurturing environment where children feel valued and inspired to explore their potential. Our philosophy is about preparing children for both school and life by nurturing their whole being — mind, body, and soul.

fostering play, learning and growth through
Our curriculum uses thematic units to create a rich, integrated learning experience that fosters play, learning, and growth. Each unit begins with a "big question" that sparks curiosity and guides exploration. Through engaging, hands-on activities related to the theme, children learn new vocabulary and gain background knowledge on a variety of subjects throughout the year. We thoughtfully focus on topics that help children understand their world, ensuring that their learning is both meaningful and relevant. This approach not only makes learning fun but also encourages deep understanding and a love for discovery.
thoughtfully crafted
Our curriculum is designed to ignite curiosity and foster a love for learning through inquiry-style, play-based activities. We understand the importance of play in a child's development, as it supports cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth. By integrating foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development with engaging hands-on experiences, we create a dynamic learning environment where children can explore, ask questions, and discover the world around them. Play is not just fun; it is a vital component of our educational approach, nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and a lifelong passion for learning.
bridging the connection between
We believe in a strong home-school connection to support your child's growth and development. Daily communication is maintained through pictures and updates sent to parents, keeping you informed and engaged in your child's experiences. Additionally, we offer monthly parent involvement activities, including optional field trips and end-of-unit showcase days, allowing you to actively participate in and celebrate your child's educational journey.
We’re gathering interest from families now to thoughtfully plan class schedules and sizes for the 2026–2027 school year. Due to the high level of interest (which I am truly so grateful for!), enrollment will be offered by invitation rather than first-come, first-served, allowing me to intentionally balance ages, developmental stages, and class dynamics so each group can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically.
